I had the idea for a children’s book about some of the less-well-known colors in late 2016. My own children were ages four, four, and two at the time. (Yes, I have twins). I was inspired by my girls, who never seemed to tire of drawing and coloring and had endless amounts of creativity. I was also reading a lot of children’s books and naturally developed some favorites that inspired me too. So in mid 2017 I decided to get serious about this endeavor. I had art skills, but I hadn’t been drawing much in the last 10+ years. I bought an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil along with the Procreate app. I got down to drawing and writing and about 16 months later I had a book.
Writing wasn’t always easy. The drawings didn’t always come easy. And the publishing… well, let’s just say I still have much to learn. Taking a book from idea to ‘available-for-purchase’ is more difficult than it sounds, but I finally got it there. So if you want to support me in this endeavor, go ahead a buy one.
Here’s the family on vacation, summer 2018.
